A Walk Through the Mall

For those of you that know me, it should come as no surprise that this post will features images snapped with my shiny new Olympus E-P3. I am very excited about this little camera, and it really does inspire me to shoot. This, of course, is also a relevant place to discuss my new u4/3 camera, because our club, DphotoA, will be using this space to document our exploits during our upcoming Route 66 trip this February!

Yes, it's been said a million times, but the best camera is the one that you have with you. My first attempt at following this advice was my Canon S95. While it was a nice camera, it didn't inspire me like the E-P3 and never produced images like these...

Today, I needed to drop my wife's car off a a shop to get her windows tinted. I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to go on a mini photo walk through the mall. It's strange, but when I'm on vacation I don't mind looking like a tourist. When I'm in my hometown, I prefer to be a bit more discreet. I wore the camera across my chest (like a sling strap), and since it was a little chilly this morning I wore a coat. Walking around, the camera was completely hidden, and I didn't draw any attention.

Since I've been on a Disney kick this year, this post wouldn't be complete without a couple snaps in the Disney Store!

And, since we're quickly approaching the holidays, I'll leave you with the big guy...

All images in this post were taken with the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7. I absolutely adore this lens, and this focal length suits my shooting style perfectly. I think combined with the Olympus 45mm f/1.8, 99% of my small camera shooting needs would be covered.

Stay tuned for more mini-u4/3 adventures leading up to the big Route 66 trip!
